There was a time when I didn’t know what I meant.
Not to the world.
Not to people.
Not even to myself.
I used to sit with this quiet, heavy thought that maybe I was just… there. Existing, but not really being. Breathing, but not really living. I remember days when everything felt grey, like the world had lost its color and I couldn’t find mine either. Days when it was hard to get up, hard to speak, hard to look people in the eyes without feeling like I didn’t belong anywhere.
I felt lost.
Not the kind of lost that you can fix with directions, but the kind that lives inside you. The kind that makes you question your worth, your place, your meaning.
And in those moments, I truly believed I was a lost case.
But growth doesn’t always come as a loud, beautiful transformation. Sometimes it comes quietly, in the way you start to understand yourself a little better. In the way you begin to stay, even when everything inside you tells you to run. In the way you choose to keep going, even when you don’t see the point yet.
I didn’t wake up one day and suddenly love myself.
It was slower than that.
Messier than that.
It came in small realizations.
In the way I started to notice what moves me. What makes me feel alive. What makes my heart open without fear.
And I realized something simple, but powerful:
When I love, I don’t do it halfway.
I love with my whole heart.
With my whole soul.
With every piece of me.
I love smiles.
I love happy faces.
I love the warmth of kind people, the ones who choose softness in a world that often rewards coldness.
I love stories—the ones people tell, and especially the ones they don’t. The ones hidden behind their eyes, behind their silence, behind the way they carry themselves.
I fell in love with seeing.
Not just looking, but truly seeing.
Because once you start to see, everything changes.
You realize that not everyone is okay, even if they look like they are. You realize that behind strength, there can be pain. Behind distance, there can be fear. Behind silence, there can be a thousand words waiting to be understood.
And somehow, in learning to see others… I started to see myself too.
I started to understand that I was never empty.
I was just disconnected from who I really was.
Yes, there are still days when everything feels heavy.
Days when it’s hard to breathe.
Days when my thoughts get too loud.
Days when facing people feels like a battle I’m not ready for.
There are still grey days.
And sometimes, dark ones.
But there are also days when I feel so full of life that it almost scares me.
Days when I feel present.
When I feel connected.
When I feel like I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
And maybe that’s what life really is.
Not constant happiness.
Not a perfect balance.
But a mix of everything.
Light and dark.
Joy and heaviness.
Losing yourself and finding yourself again… and again.
I used to think that the goal was just to survive.
To get through the hard days.
To make it to tomorrow.
But now I see it differently.
We are not here just to survive.
We are here to feel.
To love.
To experience.
To fall, to rise, to break, to rebuild.
We are here to live.
And living means allowing yourself to be everything you are.
Soft and strong.
Lost and found.
Broken and whole.
Living means giving yourself permission to feel deeply, even when it hurts.
To love fully, even when it’s scary.
To dream, even when you don’t know how you’ll get there.
Living means not holding yourself back from your own life.
Because if you want to fly…
you should.
Not when everything is perfect.
Not when you feel completely ready.
But now.
With everything you are.
With everything you carry.
This is what I’ve learned:
You are not a lost case.
You are not meaningless.
You are not too much, and you are not not enough.
You are becoming.
And that is more powerful than you think.
